Wilmington, NC – 2017 Annual Report

Enhancing Pollinator Health & Habitat

Wilmington’s Bee City USA program is managed by the New Hanover County Beekeepers Association. In 2017 we did seed exchanges and presented materials on native pollinating plants and how to start/maintain pollinator gardens.  This was done at Airlie Gardens ‘Pollinator Party’ on June 3rd, an event for National Pollinator Week at Halyburton Park on June 21st and an event at Wild Birds and Gardens ‘Native Plant Sale’ on September 16th.  We continue to promote healthy garden practices and sustainable environments for all pollinators.

Policies & Practices

While we always want more volunteers, we are active in the community presenting at 6 different events for the year. We attend each month at the New Hanover County Beekeeper’s Association to report our activities and to recruit volunteers.
